Fieldwalking Activity Day
Join us for a day of exploration and discovery in the art of Fieldwalking. Participants will have the unique opportunity to scour our fields in search of historical artefacts, primarily focusing on flints. Expert guidance will be provided on how to identify and categorize finds such as worked flints, pottery shards, bones, and more.
After a lunch break, we will dive into the fascinating process of finds washing. This is your chance to clean and examine your morning discoveries, learning the correct techniques for handling and labeling these historical treasures. This event is perfect for anyone with an interest in archaeology and history!

Test-Pitting Activity Weekend
Dig into the past with our Test-pitting event!
Participants will engage in excavating 2m x 2m test pits, following a single context recording methodology. This hands-on experience is essential for those interested in unearthing the mysteries of the past.
Throughout the weekend, you will receive training in excavation techniques, finds identification, and washing, all of which are crucial skills in archaeology. This event is not just about digging; it’s a journey through time, aiding in our understanding of the features identified in our 2021 Geophysics survey.
