Flights are not covered.

8. Additional considerations for you to think about before attending

Travel Insurance

We are really passionate about our archaeological projects and we will do our absolute best to make sure everyone has an amazing and meaningful experience. So we have listed a few considerations to ensure you have a smooth, hassle-free experience.

Remember your insurance – we advise all participants to ensure they have personal insurance to cover their tickets, belongings and most importantly, their health.

Welcome Packs

A physical welcome pack will be provided for every attendee on our projects. The pack will be full of archaeological essentials and other goodies, so remember to let us know your t-shirt sizeJ. Prior to arrival on one of our projects a digital information pack will be supplied to every participant detailing some essentials before their arrival, so please read through before you arrive. These packs will be sent via email and will contain vital information about the project such as the activities, courses, physical requirements, packing list, and health and safety information.

Prior to your arrival we shall endeavour to do our best collecting as much information about you, whether that be dietary allergies or religious requirements, to enable us to provide you with the most comfortable experience possible.

Fitness and disabilities

Past to Present Archaeology’s archaeology experiences can be physically challenging. Please be sure that you are clear about the physical demands of the particular project experience you are interested in before you decide to join us. It is your responsibility to review the project conditions and physical demands. Additional information may be supplied on request, so feel free to email us on pasttopresentarch@gmail.com to discuss any concerns you might have. Furthermore, you may even wish to discuss your participation on a project with a medical professional. We just want you to be healthy and safe on our sites.

Likewise if you have a disability and are unsure whether you are able to participate on our projects, we strongly encourage you to talk to us, as we are happy to discuss circumstances with you. At Past to Present Archaeology we want archaeology to be accessible for all, and may be able to apply practical measures to ensure your safe participation on our projects. Please notify us before booking of any disabilities so that we can discuss options for participation.

Visas and Passports

Before booking we would strongly advise you checking your government website for information regarding visas and passports, as entry requirements will be different for all. If you do have to apply for a visa for your archaeology experience, always ask for a tourist visa. Be sure to allow plenty of time for the visa approval process, which can weeks or even months! Also remember to make sure your passport is up to date and for securing any necessary visas.

Vaccinations

Check with a medical professional if you are required to receive any specific vaccinations before you attend your archaeological experience. Health conditions are continually changing so check information listed on the World Health Organisation website for up-to-date information. Remember it’s your responsibility to ensure you are fit to attend.
